Do you want to experience arctic winter time outside the city, both in the dark period with northern lights as well as the returning sunlight? Do you want to explore the colony of about 250 nesting common eiders around our kennel from June to July or the artcic terns defending their nests closed to the connecting road in the summer time? Do you want to enjoy the atmosphere of about 40-50 dogs as your neighbours? This is possible at Svalbard Villmarkssenter.

About 15-minutes walk from the center of Longyearbyen, you will find our first dog kennel. Here we got a cosy cabin with two sleeping rooms and a living room indluding a kitchen. In total, we have 10 beds with the possibility of four extra mattresses in our small turfhut next to the cabin. This fits for groups, families and friends who like to live collectively. Furthermore it is a good alternative for cheap and easy accomodation and for those who want to experience something different closed to our working place.

The cabin is equiped with electricity but without running water. Water will be provided in cans. Because of the kitchen, you have the possibilty to make all your meals yourself, but the cabin is still not too far away to have dinner in town. There is no bathroom/shower, but a cosy outside toilet. You will find different alternatives for having a shower in Longyearbyen:

• Swimming hall, ca. 45 NOK (Swimming, Sauna and shower). Please check reduced prices for students and children.
• Radisson SAS Polarhotel, ca. 50 NOK (Sauna and shower).
• Spitsbergen Hotel, ca. 50 NOK (Training studio, Solarium, Sauna and shower).
